September 26th, 2012 (Sidney, NE) – Bell Lumber & Pole Company (Bell) is pleased to announce the development of a new plant and logistics center in Western Nebraska. Bell, in cooperation with the State of Nebraska, the City of Sidney, the Village of Potter, and Cheyenne County has agreed to definitive terms to purchase and build a state of the art manufacturing facility to service both existing and new customers.

After careful analysis of market, economic, and logistical factors on a national level, Bell strategically selected Western Nebraska. Bell is acquiring property from Adams Warehousing, LLC owned by Don Adams. Bell and Adams are co-developing the property and surrounding site to accommodate all rail and manufacturing requirements.

Tom Bell, President and Owner of Bell, shared, “We are very excited to build in Nebraska. The expertise and welcoming spirit of community leaders here have made the process and ultimate decision a clear choice. This Nebraska expansion will help us better serve our existing and new customers for another 100 years.”

Bell’s new facility will add over 30 full time jobs plus dozens of other support and contractor related opportunities in the region.

A key factor in the site selection was the synergy between Adam’s and Bell’s respective businesses. Don Adams explained, “Bell chose our site in large part due to our rail access to both the BNSF and UP mainline rail. In addition, our specialty trucking operation fits well with much of their logistics needs, and we look forward to earning a role in Bell’s freight services. We couldn’t be happier with what this means to our business and to Western Nebraska.”

Committed to the investment of significant capital and the creation of new jobs, this plant is a long-term commitment by Bell to the economic development of Western Nebraska and has had the backing of the public sector.

“We are pleased and excited to welcome Bell to Nebraska. This is another example of continued job growth for our state and communities. Congratulations and acknowledgement is due to Cheyenne County, the Village of Potter, City of Sidney and State officials who are working together to make this happen,” said Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman.

The new facility is targeted to be operational in the summer of 2013.
